Matson Express arrives to the LA port 11 days after sailing, then last mile delivery is handled by American New Logistics US trucking team or partners.
The small and medium-sized ships used by Matson Express have less loading capacity, usually between 2800-3600TEU. They are efficient, flexible, and can be quickly unloaded after arriving to destination port.
Matson has independent terminals Pier C, B63, and Pier A, so there will be no congestion during peak season. Ships can dock directly after arriving to the port; therefore, the sellers have more efficient and streamlined port operations.
Matson’s exclusive truck fleet will deliver the unloaded containers from the ship to its own storage yard 3.5 miles away from the port, where fully automated operations are carried out with high efficiency. Truck drivers can pick up the container goods quickly, which avoids port congestion and greatly reduces the seller's additional transportation costs due to surcharges.
